CARIS Senior Living is the Hudson Valley’s sole memory care provider exclusively dedicated to dementia and Alzheimer’s care. Designed around smaller, thoughtfully crafted residences, CARIS prioritizes dignity, comfort, safety, and a more personal standard of care for residents and families alike.

CARIS was created to offer an alternative to large institutional care environments. Our communities are intentionally smaller, more intimate, and centered around proactive care, meaningful daily engagement, and long-term stability for every resident we serve.

  • CARIS communities provide an intuitive and recognizable setting that presents a low transitional hurdle that minimizes disorientation. This preserves a resident’s sense of space and spatial arrangement and awareness, while allowing for more natural and consistent engagement and interaction.

  • Research and real-world experience consistently show that memory care residents benefit from more intimate, less institutional environments. Smaller communities allow for more consistent interaction and staff responsiveness, stronger resident engagement, and better ability to manage changes in conditions proactively.

  • The CARIS residence incorporates multiple layers of safety, including secured access, perimeter fencing, look-out cameras and lighting, exterior and grounds lighting, as well as ample windowing for environmental signaling, open kitchen for sensory cueing, and multiple pathways with a sense of destination.

  • CARIS has innovated a unique staffing framework specifically designed to reduce burnout and turnover. By providing enhanced training and certifications across a range of skills, CARIS will be the first to implement scheduled rotations as a normal aspect of the work environment. Coupled with industry leading wages and extra staff coverage, this will provide a more stable, attentive, and de-stressed workforce better suited to engage the needs of residents.

  • CARIS is currently planning locations in Hyde Park (Dutchess County), Goshen (Orange County) and Hudson (Columbia County), with additional sites in Ulster and Saratoga counties.

  • The CARIS team brings more than 80 years of combined experience in senior care as well as resort and hospitality development. The team has developed and operated several best-of and award-winning care communities, and brings a deep reputation for innovation and integrity.
